07 Oct Kødbyen – the meatpackers district
Every city nowadays seems to get one of these areas. A former industrial area that’s re-use as creative space with bars, restaurants and hip young companies. Whether it’s LX Factory in Lisbon or London’s Truman Brewery.
And even though there are similarities between these areas they all have their own character.
And so has the meatpackers district in Copenhagen. Or Kødbyen as it’s called in Danish. Kødbyen is pretty central, a 10 minutes walk from the Central Station. And in a pleasant area (Vesterbro) where also lots of young families are living.
An unpolished industrial looking area with restaurants, bars and creative companies. Looking a bit deserted at day time, but a vivid atmosphere at night. With its large choice of restaurants definitely an area to visit when you are in Copenhagen.
