There are hundreds of Indian restaurants in London. And I have been in a number of them. Varying from simple stalls to ones with a Michelin star. But I don’t have to think long to pick my favourite. It’s Dishoom.

Dishoom call themselves a Bombay Cafe, and that’s the atmosphere they like to create. An all day cafe, with dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

At this moment there are four Dishoom locations, Shoreditch, King’s Cross, Covent Garden and the latest one Carnaby. The one I have visited a few times is the one in Shoreditch.

It’s a great place to ordering some sharing dishes like the lady fingers (okra fries) or the samosas. I am a fan of their “black house daal” and you shouldn’t miss their slow cooked lamb. And as a desert I can recommend the “Kala Khatta Gola Ice” , ice flakes with kokum syrup, lime, salt & chili.

And if breakfast is your thing, you could try the naan rolls or the Bombay omelette.
