CitizenM Tower hotel

I am a regular at the CitizenM Bankside hotel in London, must have been there more than 25 times by now. Absolutely love the concept of CitizenM! Having small but convenient rooms, and a lot of other space, which they call the living room to work or relax.

CitizenM just opened a second hotel in London. For me a good reason to book this one instead of the Bankside hotel. The new one is located near Tower Bridge (actually on top of the Tower Hill tube station) With 375 rooms it’s much bigger than the Bankside hotel.

The new CitizenM is gorgeous. The rooms are the same as the other ones (however slightly modernised) but the living rooms are much bigger and beautifully decorated. And the best of all is the rooftop bar. On the 7th & 8th floor there’s a beautiful bar with one of the most fantastic views in London. You look down on Tower Bridge and the Tower Castle. You can see the city hall across the Thames. And you can see Canary Wharf, the Gherkin, The Shard and even the London Eye is visible.

Apart from the rooms and interior, CitizenM hotels have very pleasant staff. I always feel very welcome. And I saw quit some familiar faces from Bankside at the Tower.

When thinking about Tower Bridge as a location, tourists is the first thing that comes to mind. But it’s actually a very convenient business location too. The City is at walking distance, and Canary Wharf is only 20 minutes by tube.

So now every visit the London will be a difficult choice. Staying at the good old Bankside or at the Tower. And next year the choice will be even more difficult when the 3rd hotel will be opened in my favourite part of London, Shoreditch.
