Union Street Cafe

Union Street Cafe in Southwark London is one of Gordon Ramsey’s restaurants in London. With a very industrial architecture it’s interior is typical for the restaurants we have seen appear in London in the 21th century.

The style of the restaurant is Italian. The menu is build up with antipasti, primi, secondi & dolci. Although many of the dishes are inspired by Italian classics, it’s definitely not a classic Italian restaurant. All dishes have their own twist, and are in a way modernised & made more international. And sometimes they go beyond the Italian kitchen, like with a gazpacho in summer.

I have seen some mixed reviews, not sure why. Maybe expectations are set very high when he name Gordon Ramsay is attached to a restaurant. But I have always enjoyed eating at Union Street Cafe very much. Inspiring dishes, great pasta and a good variety of vegetables.
