Diner at 40 Maltby Street

I have eaten numerous times at 40 Maltby Street, in Bermondsey, London. And not a single dish has ever disappointed me. Their style of cooking, the ingredients they use, the combinations, all this together makes this into one of my favourite restaurants ever.

The menu changes every week (they open from Wednesday till Sunday) and is written on the black board. I noticed it’s not published on their website, however quit often they put a picture of the menu on their Instagram.

It’s a very informal restaurant. No bookings. And you order your food and drinks at the bar. The restaurant is located in the warehouse of a wine trader, so expect some excellent wines here (always quit a few served by the glass)

This diner in June started with raw char with samphire and horseradish. Next dish was gem, anchovy, raw peas and Berkswell cheese. The desert was strawberry and rhubarb meringue. As you can see, it’s very good use of seasonal products.
