Delhi spice market

The Chandni Chowk in the old heart of Delhi is a vibrant area. As most streets are too small for cars, the bicycle ricksha is the standard way of transport. The Delhi spice market is one of the areas, and when you love food like me, probably the most interesting part of the market area.

There’s a building called the spice tower. This is more of a wholesale market, selling spices is huge quantities. Although as a tourist you will not be purchasing anything there, this is a good area to visit. It will give you some idea of all the spices being traded in the area.

You will find all kind of shops and stalls selling spices in lower quantities. These are a good choice to make sure you return home with enough supply for your curries the rest of the year. That was at least what we did when visiting the Delhi spice market.
